well i started my SIP not too long ago, been thrown into the classroom of reality and practicality.... well my location would be at Rasa Sentosa in the front office dept... though i have been on the job for only two days now man o man there is an overload of information... so much to remember and learn in such a short time...
1) sentosa attraction, operation hours, prices (luckily i visited most of them)
2) remember the various room types and their short forms
3) learn about their loyalty program
4) learn to take reservations & check ins
5) abreviations for inter dept messaging
6) a more advance step of OPERA
7) know the SOP for rasa sentosa
well these are just some of the things my little worn out mind can remember so far... but that is ALOT already.... well i have still got two more days of orientation before i am thrown into the deep pool with a float... friday i would be buddy to one of the full timers... i hope i dont get in his way =X
so far the people seem really really nice.. but haha like they always say many put on different fronts in a relaxed and worked environment... so we shall see what happens when i come back from work on friday... some of the stuff they are doing in there is really impressive i must say... they have this thing called break day or something like that... whereby a few people from a dept would go down to the pool side with plates of fruits just to interact with guests and talk to them... and you would be suprised to see what something so cheap and simple can do.... i think guests really appreciate it...
i also heard that every month there would be this GM's cocktail where our GM would invite various VIP guests for a cocktail party just to interact with them... i think its great... hahhaa i think our GM is someone that is very concerned over the welfare of his staff and guests... you see him all over the place... somehow every where you go you seem to just bump into him and this is really in contrast to what happens in other organisations... he is everywhere and it is always a pleasure to see him... full of fun and sincerity.... i think this internship would be a really interesting one cant wait till i start work proper...
